John Lee Hooker – Wise Fools Pub, Chicago, IL – November 9, 1976
Here’s John Lee Hooker laying down some nasty blues/boogie in front of a very enthusiastic Chicago audience. Hooker and his band are clearly feeding off the energy in the room and turn in a blazing performance in return. It’s obvious from listening that the room is quite small and one can imagine how exciting it must have been watching a blues legend work his magic in such an intimate setting.

Thanks for this! I was there with friends. We grabbed the table closest to the tiny stage. I can even hear our group in a couple of spots. John Lee sat on one of the chairs at our table during one song, jamming away. Awesome!

Thanks a lot! Excellent JLH show. I`m not sooo in the Blues, but even I can say this is first class Blues `n Boogie! By the way: Nice experience, Mr. Forrest Tead! And it`s been 1976. The rebellion decade…we wanted to roll the world. It lacked only a few minutes as far as I can remember…
